    Frequently Asked Questions

What will be my personal obligations with your non-profit organization during representation?

Blue Ribbon is a Non-Profit is dedicated to help people who feel they were victims of unacceptable employment practices the led to inconsistent application of discipline by the Department.  We do NOT assist people with standard cases where we feel the management action was appropriate.  We take the case based on what was related to us pending the review of related documents.  Once we review the case and read EVERY piece of paper, we discuss further strategies with the client to lay out intervention and mediation options that we feel is the best of course of action. However, there are no guarantees that the strategy will bring the results desired by the client.  The only assurance we can give you is that Blue Ribbon will dedicate a lot more time in effort than some attorneys do. NO personal obligations are required ONLY that you pay it forward to someone in similar situations. Not by providing financial support but perhaps by donating your time or speaking on her/his behalf.

There are no attorneys at Blue Ribbon.  Just retired lieutenants, detectives, sergeants or persons with mediating experiences who may have also been a victim themselves of discrimination or retaliation.  However, Blue Ribbon works with litigation attorneys when we feel there could be a cause of action and our intervention may conflict with potential litigation issues. Managing partners will let you know after a case biopsy has been completed.  It is your obligation to provide all pertinent documents and cost associated with it.  Such hard copies of all pertinent documentation.  Once the case is closed, all pertinent documents are returned to you or shredded at your expense if paper volume exceeds our personal shredding capacities.

We asked the client that our representation remain confidential at all times.  We do write correspondence on your behalf, which you will see before it is sent or emailed.  Eventually the name of our Non-Profit will be on the Logo of the documents to recipients who have the need to know and the right to know.  Other than this, you name will remain confidential to other members as well.  The details of the case will only be discussed with people we feel may assist us in reaching the desired outcome.   We asked that you refrain from shopping around once you decide you want our help. It prevents conflicting strategies from hurting your case in the long run.
